My Weblog: The Gospel Preacher.

In Matthew 26:50, it is written ( please read all of this chapter to get the immediate context ), " 50 And Jesus said unto him, aFriend, wherefore art thou come?  Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him. "  Whenever we commit sin, we are just like Judas Iscariot — we have betrayed Jesus.  Jesus said in Matthew 22:21 ( please read this entire chapter to get the immediate context ), " aRender1 therefore unto Caesar the things which are bCaesar's; and unto God the things that are cGod's. "  Jesus, in making this latter statement, was teaching us to submit to the authority of human government, and to God's absolute authority ( see Matthew 28:16-20 ( especially verse 18, for example ) and John, chapter 5 ( especially verses 26 and 27, for example ), for example ).

The media in this country, and numerous politicians, would have us believe that President Donald J. Trump was the worst person to ever occupy the Oval Office.  The Democrats did not win the 2020 presidential election because they had a winning presidential candidate and a winning political message.  The Master in heaven decided to oust President Trump because of his strategy during roughly the last three months of his presidential campaign, for example.  It seems like that every time I mentioned the phrase " white supremacy " or something about slavery from the Holy Bible, in what one would expect to be the privacy of my own house church, almost like clockwork, a few days later we would receive a piece of mail from president Trump ( or occasionally Melania ).  Keep in mind that Sean Hannity mentioned on his television show last year ( 2020 ) that the United States government can point a satellite at someone's house and hear everything going on inside it.  Thus, if President Trump had malicious reasons for sending those frequent letters in the mail, then his strategy backfired on him.  God will not tolerate persecution of His covenant people, Christians, members of the one, universal, New Testament church ( the church of Christ — see Acts, chapter 9; chapter 11 ( especially verse 26, for example ); chapter 12; and Romans 12:1-8 ( especially verse 5, for example ); 16:16, for example ).  At this point in time, President Trump should have learned an important lesson, namely, do not presecute the church.  One implication of this observation is that God has His eyes fixed squarely on the Almanac Road church of Christ.  In Psalm 34:15, it is written, " 15 aThe eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. "  I am trying my best not to disappoint Him ( see John, chapter 8 ( especially verses 26 and 29, for example ) and 1 Corinthians 11:1, for example ).  In the meantime, if President Trump would like to run for president of the United States in 2024, he can feel free to do that, but he will have to learn to leave the church of Christ alone.

In the political realm, President Trump initially succeeded in making his ememies look bad, but he needs to learn that he does not have to respond to everything people say.  In Ecclesiastes 7:21, 22, it is written, " 21 Also 1take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee: 22 for oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others. "  God says that sometimes, when someone says something derogatory about us, we should just let is slide.  In the passage of Scripture just quoted, God commands selective passiveness.  In Ecclesiastes 3:7, it is written, " 7 A time to 1rend, and a time to 2sew; aa time to keep silence, and a time to bspeak. "  It is up to each one of us to study the Bible and gain the wisdom we need ( see Proverbs, chapter 2 ( especially verses 1-6, for example ), for example ) to know when to speak and when to keep silent.  It is a sin to be contentious, for in Proverbs 26:21, it is written, " 21 aAs 1coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife. "  See also Proverbs 20:3, for example.

God through His providence ( see Psalm 119:108, for example ), has allowed a multi-party political system to exist in the United States of America, for example, so that He can switch from one political party to the next when He pleases.  In Psalm 135:6, it is written, " 6 aWhatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places. "  Thus, it pleased the heavenly Father ( see Matthew 5:9, 16; 6:9, 14, for example ) to put the Democratic party in power at this time.  We will all have a better understanding of His decision as time passes.

God has chosen to place the Biden-Harris team in the White House.  We will all see how He responds to them.  Socialism is condemned in the Holy Bible ( see Acts 2:42-47 and Romans 13:1, for example ).  All sin is a betrayal of Jesus.  Please study the Holy Bible. 🕮
